Readings from Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets
In another fascinating new Bachfest venture Shakespeare’s extensive use of music is examined and illustrated by a highly talented trio: countertenor Robin Blaze, lutenist Elizabeth Kenny and actor Dickon Tyrrell. There will be readings from the Bard’s plays and sonnets alongside settings of his music by Holborne, Dowland, Johnson, Morley, Purcell and others. Elizabeth Kenny is one of Europe’s leading lute players and her collaboration with Robin Blaze over the years has taken them from renowned UK festivals to Carnegie Hall. Dickon Tyrrell has appeared in 23 Shakespearean productions and is a regular at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
